Pine Mail Questions



Q1. How do I print in Pine?

A1. You must set up Pine to print to YOUR printer. First, go into Pine and press "s" for "Setup". Then, choose "p" for "[Printer]" and then type 3 and press ENTER or RETURN. Next, at the "Command for custom printer:" prompt type: XPRINT and then press ENTER or RETURN. After you've set up Pine, you can press "y" to print a message.

Q2. How do I set up a signature in Pine?

A2. E(X)it to the "$" prompt and type the following to create your signature file: $ edit pine.signature Within the above file, type what you wish to appear as your signature. When you are done, press Ctrl-Z and then type EXIT at the "*" prompt.

Q3. How do I have mail that I send, automatically sent to myself?

A3. First, choose "s" for "Setup" and then choose "c" for "Config". Scroll down to the line entitled "default-fcc" and press "a". At the "Enter the value to be added :" prompt type: SENT-MAIL and then press ENTER or RETURN. Then, press "e" to "Exit Config".

Q4. How do I extract a message to a file?

A4. You can either have the message you wish to print pulled up on your screen or have it highlighted in your folder list. Then, press "e" to "Export" the message to a file. At the "EXPORT: (copy message) to file in home directory:" prompt, enter the name of the file to which you wish to have your message extracted.
